New Orleans is a city like you’ve never seen. From Kenner to the Quarter, we’re surrounded by water. Seersucker suits meet funky soul swagger. Cajun men and their lovely ladies sashay at the fais do-do. We eat crawfish by the sack on the porch around back.
Down here, “who dat?” goes way back, from the Storyville stages to the jazz band call-and-response. This playful inquiry was just a small part of our colorful vernacular until the Original Who Dat song flipped the switch in 1983 — and just like that, all the fun-loving locals known as “Yats” became Who Dats. Today, whether you’re a ninth-generation native or a newcomer under the spell of this magic city, you a Who Dat and we love ya!
